Voice Dialogue Trainings : The POWER of TWO

Dorsey and Neil are a great teaching team! As a therapist and a poet both deeply involved in Voice Dialogue and the Psychology of Selves - each offers a unique contribution. As a couple, they "walk their talk" so that their teaching comes from a rich combination of knowledge, expertise and personal experience. We are delighted to recommend them as teachers of our work. Hal Stone, Ph.D. & Sidra Stone, Ph.D.

Objectives, Teaching Methods, Schedule for CEUs

Working With the INNER CRITIC

Relevance: You will gain an understanding and a tool for helping your clients shift their inner negative parent voice from an adversary to a vital and supportive ally.
You can also use this with your own inner critic, which will increase your self-esteem in many areas of your life, including your professional life.

Brief description: As you'll see by the schedule that follows, in this training we will interweave watching a video, by psychologists, Drs. Hal & Sidra Stone, demonstrating the use of their Voice Dialogue method in working with the Inner Critic, (five short sessions), with live demonstrations and hands-on practice.

Objectives - At the conclusion of this workshop, participants will be able to:
1. Identify the Inner Critic's major complaints and find their origins
2. Practice listening non-judgmentally to its comments and connecting to its role as an ally in the early years
3. Appraise the underlying anxiety of an Inner Critic and explain how to hear and deal with the cry for help beneath its attack.
4. Practice using other selves to balance the power and the potential destructiveness of the Inner Critic.

Teaching Methods to be included:

A Video Tape, The Inner Critic In Action: A Voice Dialogue Video Training with Drs. Hal & Sidra Stone who created Voice Dialogue.
